'Billionaires Got To Go?'—Amazon Labor Union's Chris Smalls Briefs Billionaire George Soros' Foundation Friends
Apparently, some billionaires are better than other billionaires?
It was less than a month ago that Amazon Labor Union President Chris Smalls led rally goers in a profanity-laced chant (embedded below) that stated “Billionaires, they gotta go!”
However, on Thursday, Smalls participated in an “Amazon Briefing” with billionaire George Soros’ Open Society-US Executive Director Tom Perriello and Center for American Progress (CAP) President and CEO Patrick Gaspard—who previously served in Perriello’s position at Open Society-US, following numerous other high-profile positions.
The briefing was hosted by a little-known 501(c)(3) called For the Long Term.
“For the Long-Term is a 501(c)(3) public charity that supports state, city, county, and tribal Treasurers in managing the unique challenges they have in interfacing with each other and nonprofit organizations to support the long-term well-being of their beneficiaries,” according to its website. “We partner with other organizations to create a proactive forward looking agenda through which public Treasurers can build support amongst their fellow fiduciaries, and ensure continuity from one public Treasurer to their successor.”
As there has not been any video released yet, what George Soros and his organization’s interests are in the Amazon Labor Union (ALU) remain unknown.
However, one of the event participants was New York City Comptroller Brad Lander and the briefing coincided with a Wall Street Journal article stating that:
A group of New York city and state pension funds that collectively own more than $5 billion of Amazon.com Inc. stock are urging fellow shareholders to vote against re-election of two board members for what the institutions say are failures to adequately protect worker safety.
Apparently, some billionaires are better than other billionaires?
