After failing in 2014, and then again in 2019, by more than a two-to-one margin, the United Auto Workers (UAW) has finally succeeded in winning an election to represent employees at Volkswagen’s plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
There were 4,326 eligible voters and a total of 3,620 votes were cast. More than 700 eligible voters did not vote.
Of the 3,620 votes cast, 2,628 employees voted for the UAW, while 985 voted against unionizing. Three votes were voided, and seven votes were challenged.
