500 Starbucks locations have voted to unionize as labor talks continue
Baristas at a Starbucks in Bellingham, Washington, became the 500th store to join the Starbucks Workers United union on Monday. Since the first location voted to unionize in 2021, more than 11,000 baristas have joined the union, according to a Tuesday press release.
Apple accused of forcing employees to sign illegal contracts, quashed labor efforts
On Monday, the National Labor Relations Board launched a complaint against Apple, claiming that it required its employees to sign illegal confidentiality, non-compete, and non-disclosure agreements. The complaint also alleges that Apple over-enforced social media and misconduct policies on its employees.
Striking Boeing union asks CEO to 'truly engage' after workers' health coverage cut
Boeing's largest union urged new CEO Kelly Ortberg on Tuesday to get more involved in contract negotiations to end a strike by around 33,000 U.S. West Coast workers, after the U.S. planemaker cut off their healthcare benefits.
