PBGC's Giving of Taxpayer Moneys to Under-Funded Union Pension Plans Continues in 2024

To date, the PBGC has given underfunded union pension funds $53.6 billion in taxpayer moneys.

After giving underfunded union pension plans $53.6 billion of taxpayer moneys in 2022 and 2023, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) announced Friday that it has approved the application submitted to the Special Financial Assistance (SFA) Program by the Laborers’ International Union of North America Local Union No. 1822 Pension Fund (Laborers’ International Local 1822 Fund).
