Trader Joe's Loses NLRB Election 31 to 45, Two More Elections Coming Up
On Thursday, iconic niche grocer Trader Joe’s lost an NLRB election 31 to 45 in Hadley, Massachusetts.
Although the union—Trader Joe’s United—was formed earlier in the year, the union filed its petition in June “seeking improvements in pay and benefits and a say on safety issues,” reported Bloomberg’s Josh Eidelson.
Although this is the chain’s first loss, Trader Joe’s United has another election scheduled in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 11th and 12th and, earlier this week, the United Food & Commercial Workers filed an election petition for a Trader Joe’s in Boulder, Colorado.
