UAW accused of dirty tricks during ratification process of Big Three contracts
Allegations put validity of 'official' numbers into question.
Amid the ratification process of the ‘historic’ contracts negotiated between the United Auto Workers (UAW) and the Detroit Three autoworkers—Ford, General Motors (GM) and Stellantis—some workers are accusing the union of dirty tricks during the ratification process in order to get the contracts ratified.
Although the UAW’s ratification of its contract with Stellantis is not yet complete, the UAW has declared passage of the General Motors contract by 54.74% to 45.26%. However, the UAW’s methodology of ratification—including members voting under the "watchful eye of management" at GM—has been called out by some UAW members.
