WATCH: Bernie Sanders, AOC, Sara Nelson Rally With Union Ahead of 2nd Amazon Warehouse Vote
On Sunday, ahead of an election at a second Amazon facility in Staten Island, New York, labor and political leaders rallied with Amazon Labor Union leaders with a crowd of about 100 people.
In addition to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), a “host of union heads from around the country, including Association of Flight Attendants-CWA President Sara Nelson, American Postal Workers Union President Mark Dimondstein and American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten, addressed the crowd of about 100 people outside the tech giant’s LDJ5 facility,” reported silive.com.
Eric Blanc, an incoming Assistant Professor of labor studies at Rutgers University, captured some of the rally’s speeches and posted them on Twitter.
The LDJ5 vote will run through this week and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) will being counting the votes on May 2.
