With an auto strike looming, the UAW slams Stellantis over plant closure in a new video
If a single-company UAW strike were to take place, it would likely be against Stellantis, says analyst.
With a potential economy-damaging strike looming on September 14th, the United Auto Workers (UAW) released a video on Wednesday critical of Stellantis (the automaker that owns car brands Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep) and its closure of the Belvidere, Illinois, assembly plant and the layoff of 1,350 employees.
Although a strike is not a certainty, the Center for Financial Research and Analysis’ Garrett Nelson told CNBC’s Squawk Box on Wednesday that it is unclear whether the UAW would strike at all three Detroit automakers.
However, if the UAW strikes only one of the Detroit Three, it would likely be against Stellantis.
