Leaked messages from within the UAW's inner circle reveal that "union negotiators are using bargaining sessions to inflict ‘recurring reputations damage and operational chaos.’"
This is fake news. There is nothing in these messages that could be construed as demonstrating “bad faith” bargaining. The corporations are just not used to playing hardball.
Well, it's not "fake news," and the companies may not be used to playing hardball. However, based on the Detroit News' statement that the leaked messages are "eliciting predictable outrage and accusations of bad-faith bargaining” does raise the question, does it not?
Perhaps it’s real news and fake outrage. If they think there’s bad faith bargaining they should file a charge and let it be determined by the proper authorities. That’s what the UAW did when GM and Stellantis stalled their bargaining counter proposals.
