NLRB Data: Unions Won More Than 75% of Certification Elections In January, Lost 9 Out of 10 Decertifications
.
Unions won nearly 77 percent of all certification elections conducted by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in the month of January 2024, according to newly-released NLRB data.
In all, there were 121 certification elections held in January (110 RC elections and 11 RM elections, respectively).
Of the certification elections held, unions won 87 out of 110 RC elections held and 6 of the 11 RM elections held.
However, when it came to unionized employees deciding whether to remain unionized or decertify their unions, in nine out of 10 elections workers chose to decertify their union.
The union win rate in January is consistent with the first three months of the NLRB’s 2024 fiscal year, where unions have been winning around 75 percent of all certification elections.
