Union Certification Election Win Rate Remained at 80% in June, according to NLRB Data
Unions have won nearly 74% of all certification elections conducted since October.
For the third month in a row, unions won 80 percent of the 142 certification elections conducted in June by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) bringing the average union rate for unions in fiscal year 2023 up to nearly 74 percent.
While unions did not fare as well in the 13 decertification elections the NLRB conducted, winning only 30 percent of the election wherein workers chose whether or not to remain unionized, the NLRB closed out a total of 156 elections where unions won an overall 76 percent of the time.

With the addition of June’s win rates, unions have now won an average of nearly 74 percent of certification elections since October, the beginning of the NLRB’s fiscal year.
