NLRB DATA: Number of Certification Elections, Union Win Rate Down In April
On decertification elections, though still losing an overwhelming majority, unions improved their win rate month-over-month.

The number of certification elections, as well as union win rate were down slightly in April, according to newly-released data from the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
In March, the NLRB conducted 149 (RC and RM) certification elections. However, according to the NLRB data, that number dropped slightly to 141 in April.
Meanwhile, in March, unions won 79.4 percent of union-filed RC elections, and 61.5 percent of employer-filed RM elections. In April, however, unions won 75.8 percent of the RC elections, a slight decrease, and less than half (46.2 percent) of the RM elections.
In decertification elections—wherein already unionized employees choose whether to keep or decertify their existing unions—though slightly improved from March’s 16.7. percent, over 70 percent of the time (72.7 percent) employees chose to decertify in April.
